Top NFL Football Rookie Cards to Invest in.
Calling all football rookie card collectors! The new NFL season is right around the corner, and you know what that means? Training camp. For the players, this is when it’s time to prepare their bodies and minds for the upcoming season. For football card collectors, it’s time to target and stock up as much as you can before prices change during the season. So whether you’re buying football card boxes or packs, or just buying individual sports cards to sell for a profit, here are the top 3 players in each conference you should be focused on collecting.
2023 NFL Quarterback Edition

AFC Football Rookie Cards
1. Kenny Pickett
In an already competitive division, the Steelers are going to depend on Pickett to lead their strong offense to the top of the standings. In his second year, Pickett has the potential to lead the black and gold to the playoffs, especially with the help of Najee Harris, George Pickens, and rookie Calvin Austin.
2. Patrick Mahomes
This one goes without saying. Arguably the Super Bowl favorite every year, investing in Patrick Mahomes(eBay) cards is always the safest option. Perhaps the most liquid card in the hobby, if you’re able to get his rookie card or even some of his more recent color cards, flipping for a profit is easy.
3. Joe Burrow
From one Super Bowl favorite to another, Joe Icey and the Cincinnati Bengals are once again considered a top dog in the AFC title race. Many would say they were robbed of a Super Bowl appearance last season, so expect the former LSU star and his high-powered offense to seek revenge this season. Burrow’s price is surprisingly low right now, get his cards before the season starts and the market wakes up.
NFC Football Rookie Cards

1. Jalen Hurts
Can Hurts lead the Eagles back to the Super Bowl this season? They’ve upgraded their offense and their defense still remains one of the best in the NFC. All signs point to yes as long as health doesn’t become an issue. Even if you don’t think they’ll go all the way, plenty of collectors do, so if you like making money, invest in as many Hurts cards as you can.
2. Brock Purdy & Trey Lance
I’ll come right out and say Purdy cards are a risk. Depending on who you ask, he might not be the starter for the Niners outside of week 1. A lot of fans still have faith in Trey Lance, despite Purdy taking the Niners on an impressive playoff run last season. That being said, his cards are selling like crazy right now. The Niners have a stacked offense and a lockdown defense. For that reason, I would collect both Niners quarterbacks – especially Lance since his market is so low right now.
3. Desmond Ridder
A lot of people in the hobby are talking about Pickett and Purdy, but oftentimes Ridder slips between the cracks. With the Falcons drafting Bijan Robinson, potentially a top 3 running back this season, alongside Kyle Pitts and Drake London, the Falcons have a young, talented, and explosive offense that could take the NFC South by storm. Ridder is set up for success.
